Hello Charlotte!!! After last night, today was a nice change, besides the rain n’ all.
I discovered a much better way to sleep on the bus today. It was all going peachy-keen until it came time to start editing… Any frustration Coach Davis had built up, I helped him get rid of. I am not going to make an sort of excuses but long story short, I sucked at filming for this latest story Marlee and I had to do in Washington D.C. When I say I sucked, I mean it, and am my toughest critic but it is all honesty right now. Marlee and I were so positive that our story was shot to *’H, E, double hockey sticks*. Low and behold Davis rescued us, well after he yelled at me for about 30 minutes that is. I just let him yell, I didn’t say anything, I just sat on the floor of the bus and “took it like a man” according to Coach. Somehow this clever ol’ fella managed to turn a story about teenagers opinions about the White House into something rather emotional. Got to love the guy right? :)
When we arrived to Charlotte, it was time for some action. We literally got straight off the bus (well those of us know about the finer things in life) and headed straight to the Lowe’s Motor Speedway. This beautiful town is the heart and soul of NASCAR my friends!! We got a great tour around the track and even got to take a few laps. Ok, it was in a van, that I think started getting tired after it hit about the 73 mph mark. I even got to take a picture in victory lane, do you know how many amazing drivers stood in that exact same spot I did?! Kendra left all of us to spend some time with her mother dearest (she lives near Charlotte). Chelsy’s aunt came to hang with us in the hotel for a little bit. It ended up that Marlee and I came along with them to hang out! We had such a great time. We got to drive around and see downtown Charlotte and then we ate at the delicious P.F. Chang’s. We all got something different so we could share. Marlee and Chelsy are big babies because they can’t eat spicy stuff! We had the best dessert too, and our waitor was awful friendly ;). Aunt Lynn Ann is such a great person and I am coming back here to stay with her this summer whether she wants me to or not.
I want to say that I am having a wonderful time. There are three days left of this adventure. I am sad that it is almost over but I miss my family and friends back home and can’t wait to see them. I love them so much! My dad said my kitty has gone “bonkers” since I left.
Until next time… Holly you do not look like a party animal in that Santa night gown.
